Regular exercise plays a crucial role in helping you maintain a healthy body. Keeping a healthy fit body can delay and prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes and even cancer! It is important that you participate in 30 minutes of moderate physical activity at least 5 times a week.

It doesn’t matter what type of physical activity you do, just as long as you are doing it. Try swimming, walking, bicycling, jogging, dancing, mowing the lawn, whatever you enjoy the most. Light weight training and stretching can also strengthen your overall body and improve your fitness. You don’t need to have a structured daily exercise routine, mix it up, add some variety to your workouts and you will enjoy them more.

The key is to make your workouts fun so that you stay motivated and actually look forward to exercising. This will help keep you dedicated to being fit, not just because you know what you are doing is great for your health, but because you really enjoy what you are doing. Before you know it, you will go out of your way to participate in sports and physical activity and you will not be able to imagine going back to the sedentary lifestyle you lived before, because you will feel so good, and you will have more energy and feel stronger then you have in years!

Regular exercise is more than just a change in your daily routine; it’s a change in your overall lifestyle and quality of living.

When you want to lose weight or get in shape, your goal to be healthy fitness instead of just being skinny or muscular. When you start to work out you should know what your goal really is and if it’s achievable or not. If you think you’re going to look like a supermodel, you’re only going to be disappointed.

When you get yourself fit, then you are automatically making your body more healthy because you’re getting closer to your ideal weight and are working out your heart, lungs and muscles.

I think it's important to remember that fitness means both cardio exercise and strength training because both are important to our overall physical health.

By leaving one of those out, you're missing out on a lot of the benefits that an active lifestyle has to offer.

The one thing about both weight loss and health as a whole is that if you want to achieve it, you need to exercise or at least keep up a good activity level. Even if you eat the healthiest diet in the world, if you’re a couch potato, your body won’t be healthy.

The key to actually like exercising and activity is not to make a chore of it. If you do the exact same thing for the exact same length of time every single day, you'll learn to dread exercising really fast.

Instead, do lots of different things, and do them when you feel like it. Sure, there are going to be exercises that you don't like as much, but you can do those on the days that you feel the most motivated. That way, when you're feeling like a bit of a couch potato, then you can do the types of activities that you enjoy the most.

Also, rope someone else into your exercising with you. Jog with a friend or talk to the people at the gym. The time goes a lot faster when you're working with someone else.

Whenever you find yourself dreading exercise, become conscious of it and mentally correct yourself. Tell yourself what a positive thing it is that you're doing and remind yourself that once you’re finished, you'll feel great - if only because of the endorphins released in your brain from the physical activity ;)

We all need it, whether we want to or not. Exercise doesn’t have to be a big deal, it just has to become a regular part of your life. This is critical for health, for weight loss, and for being happy, too, since exercise (whether or not you actually like it) does actually encourage good emotional and mental health.

Whether you're trying to lose weight or just stay healthy, regular daily exercise should be a central part of that effort. The body was designed to move around, so a sedentary lifestyle (like the one I used to have) can only do it harm. I refuse to consciously hurt my body any longer. I work out every single day.
