There are a lot of weight loss programs out there that could help you. Probably the best place to start would be a structured program like Jenny Craig that will help you learn about nutrition and how to eat a healthier diet.

If you want to try to lose weight without a structured program then you must follow some simple guidelines:

1. Eat a healthy diet low in calories and carbohydrates. Cut out breads, pastas, potatoes and sugars.

2. Avoid junk food, pop and alcohol. These three unhealthy foods contain very high calories and carbohydrates, even in small amounts.

3. Exercise, exercise, exercise. Exercise at least 5 times a week, even if its only a 30 minute walk. Make it your goal to increase your exercise levels every week. Mix up your activities when you can - walk, run, bike, swim, aerobics, step classes - just get your body moving.
