Default Thermogenics vs other fat burners

Are thermogenics the best fat burners? Are they they only fat burners? If there are fat burners that are just as good or better, what are they and how do they work?

I think that thermogenics are the only fat burners. I can't imagine how the body could burn fat in any other way. I mean think about it...fat BURNER...it means it burns, so it heats up . That's what thermogenesis is: your body burning fat as fuel to produce heat. Maybe you can lose fat in other ways but to actually burn it off I'm pretty sure this process does, in fact, require thermogenesis.

Um...I'm pretty sure there are more fat burners than just thermogenics. I honestly couldn't tell you what they are but I feel like if thermogenics were the only ones we'd know this, right? Also, wouldn't every company that created a fat burner product say it is a thermogenic or that it contains thermogenics?

You're right Cujo1992 there are more fat burners than just thermogenics. Thermogenics are only one type. There are also fat burners that work by boosting your energy, increasing your metabolism and even those that will help you curb your appetite. For instance, capsicum is a thermogenic fat burner, green teas is an energy enhancer. That said, some fat burners can do both. For instance, caffeine can function as both a thermogenic and an energy enhancer. In fact, for some people, it even helps to curb appetite. This is likely why most people feel that caffeine is one of the best fat burners. With that in mind however, do keep in mind that while fat burners may work differently, all of them need to be used in combination with exercise and a low-cal diet to really make a difference to your weight loss efforts.

This is really interesting but I'm a little confused about one thing that you said. You said that fat burners can also work by curbing appetite...but wouldn't that be an appetite suppressant and not a fat burner?

Okay so if I'm understanding correctly fat burners include thermogenics and energy enhancers? I'm a little confused though. Does a fat burner help you to burn fat like an energy enhancer that may give you the energy to exercise but it's the exercise that is causing the fat loss, not the energy enhancer...or is a fat burner something that actually burns fat (no matter how much or little) without exercise?

I think a fat burner is something that helps you to burn fat regardless if you are doing something or not. That being said, just because something burns fat, this doesn't mean that it burns enough fat to make a difference to your weight loss efforts.

Also, I was under the impression that all fat burners are thermogenics.
