Default Need to get healthy

So I am new here and hoping it gives me the encouragement to shed weight so that I can be healthy again. I am 27 5'6" and weigh in at 256. This is an improvement as I have lost 15 lbs in the last month. I have a four year old and have realized that I am unable to keep up with her. I want to be able to run and be active with her and not pass along the heaviness to her. I admit that I would like to look nicer in clothes and not be uncomfortable to put on a swimsuit but mainly I just want to get healthy. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

Hi and welcome .

Firstly, congratulations on losing 15 pounds in the last month. Losing weight in the month of December is so hard for me. You must have some pretty good self control.

What are you doing right now for a diet? Have you just been eating healthier or are you following a structured program?

When I first decided to lose weight one of the biggest difficulties for me was staying on track. Without a structured weight loss program I would cheat on my diet a lot more. I joined Weight Watchers and had pretty good success with that program. What helped me the most was going to the weekly meetings for the weigh-in. That helped to keep me accountable for what I ate because it always felt terrible when I would gain instead of lose.

But all this isn't to say that you can't lose weight on your own and in fact many people succeed to lose weight without any help from a commercial weight loss program.

Let us know what kind of support you need. We can exchange ideas or healthy recipes. Whatever may be helpful to you .

Congratulation at least you managed to shed 15 lbs. that's amazing. But to lose weight and maintain it, you need perseverance, patience and determination.

Yes, it's not an easy task, but if you are determine to do it, by all mean go ahead.

It's an achievement that you managed to lose some pounds, don't stop there, you can do better.
