Hi and welcome
I've tried the maple syrup diet, which I assume is the same as the Master Cleanse or Lemonade Diet. I posted my experience in the forum here:
Master Cleanse - Lemonade Diet
I didn't lose any weight using this cleanse. I think it is important to understand that there is a difference between a cleanse and a diet. A cleanse is a means to flush your body of toxins, while a diet is done to lose weight. Although you may lose weight on the maple syrup diet, it is not a healthy means of losing body fat.
While on the maple syrup diet you aren't eating food, just drinking the maple syrup/lemon juice/cayenne pepper concoction. This provides very few calories and in response your metabolism is going to slow down. Yes, you will likely lose some weight, but this weight loss is only temporary and you will likely gain it all back and then some when you begin to eat normally again. At least that was my experience, perhaps you will have better luck.
If losing weight is your goal, I would suggest trying a diet program that incorporates healthy eating and regular exercise. This way you don't have to yo-yo diet, but actually develop the lifestyle changes you need to make in order to lose weight and keep it off.
Keep us posted how it goes either way. I'd love to know what other's think of the Master Cleanse.
Have a great day
