Default 40 pounds to go

Hi All,

I am wanting to lose 40 to 50 pounds. I have already lost 60 pounds, but will not rest until I succeed. I am at a plateau right now for about a 9 months and it is extremely frustrating. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Angel

Hi Angel...congrats on losing 60 pounds, way to go ;D

A weight loss plateau is very frustrating. I don't know what you've tried so far, but usually to overcome the plateau you need to:
  • increase your exercise intensity and include more cardio workouts
  • add more muscle building exercises to your routine (muscle burns calories)
  • eat a healthy diet that is lower in calories and carbs (not too low or you won't have energy for exercise)

I have found that these tips help to overcome a stubborn plateau. Remember that when you increase your exercise level you will gain more muscle while losing fat. Muscle is heavier than fat and it will feel like you still aren't losing, but you are.

This site offers some good info on diet plateaus here: http://www.weight-loss-center.net/we...s_plateau.html

Let me know how it goes. You've got the motivation, which is the most important thing. Keep up the great work :D

Default Weight Loss Plateau

Getting off the Plateau is not easy. It can take weeks sometimes. I think the weight loss plateau is one most influential factors that causes most diets to fail. When people are losing weight they tend to have more motivation to stick to their diets, but if they hit a wall and are not losing weight they are less likely to stick with their weight loss plans.
