Default Are stimulant-free diet pills as good as stimulant ones?

Are stimulant-free diet pills as powerful as diet pills that contain stimulants like caffeine? If so, what non-stimulant ingredients are the most powerful?

It depends on who you ask. Some people only swear by diet pills that contain stimulants - especially if they're looking for fat burning. That said, I personally think that you can benefit from a diet pill that contains no stimulants or non-stimulant. For instance, decaf green tea offers a lot of benefits. While it is not stimulant-free, considering the amount of caffeine in it is so low, it does fit the non-stimulant category.

Other non-stimulant ingredients that get a lot of hype include garcinia cambogia (appetite suppression), white kidney bean (carb blocker) and glucomanan (appetite suppressant).

No. I honestly don't think that they are. I think the only proven ingredient on the OTC weight loss market is caffeine. It helps to give you the most fat burning potential when you combine it with exercise. beyond that, I don't think any other ingredient has been proven effective in aiding in weight loss.

Really? You think that no non-stimulant ingredient could help with weight loss? I know that not a lot of ingredients are the best - this includes caffeine in my opinion - but I have to believe that more than stimulant ingredients can be beneficial in helping me reach my weight loss goals. Anyone else think the same thing?

I believe there are non-stimulant ingredients that are effective like glucomana, garcinia cambogia, non-caffeinated green tea, CLA and vitamin B 12. I know that none of these have been proven 100% effective, but I believe that they have potential. I also don't think that caffeine and other stimulants are half as good at helping with weight loss as studies claim.

That's a really hard question to answer Freddyboy. The reason, in my opinion, is because that while there is know really knowing if they are better than stimulants, the reality is that stimulant ingredients are not necessarily effective either. Just because you feel the effects of stimulants, this doesn't necessarily mean they are helping you to lose weight. How much you lose and if you lose any weight is up to you and the choices you make regarding exercise and diet. So technically both stimulant and non-stimulant could technically be effective as long as your following a tight weight loss regimine that includes a healthy low-cal diet and regular exercise where you burn a lot of calories. Also, keep in mind that how much of an ingredient used matters in terms of its effectiveness. Most dietary supplements don't contain enough of any one ingredient (especially the ones with 10+ ingredients) to do anything.

Finally, I just want to add that if you choose to take non-stimulants avoid taking any PM (nighttime) pills. These are totally useless. You're not going to burn more fat by taking them. The only way you burn more fat is by moving your body.

So they don't help you to burn fat or suppress appetite at all?

I think some non-stimulant ones do when they are combined with exercise and diet, but I don't think the PM ones do and that's only because you aren't moving. Nothing magically melts fat from your body, only exercise and reduced calories does that.
