Default What are common risks after weight loss surgery

I was wondering what are the common risks that are the most typical after you have weight loss surgery and is there any way to limit this risk or reduce them?

The biggest risk I think is infection.

I think bleeding could be a problem, especially excessive bleeding. I'm sure pain, swelling and, yeah, infection are some serious risks, too.

Risks can be infection, excessive bleeding, breathing problems, blood clots, and leaks in your gastrointestinal system. I think these are all risks no matter how well you take care of yourself. That said, you can likely reduce your chance of experiencing them by simply following the instructions of your healthcare provider.

Geepers! That's a lot of scary risks. I would have thought that the major ones would have been infection and maybe bleeding if you mess up your stitches or something.

You're not kidding! I also thought that pretty much it would be infection that would be a risk or maybe gaining back the weight...but excessive bleeding, breathing problems, blood clots and leaks in the gut? Yikes!
