Default How will I feel less hungry?

I know there are some weight loss surgeries that are actually designed to help you eat less food. How does this work? Even if they shrink your stomach, does this shrink your cravings, too?

It depends on the surgery. Typically though it's because your stomach is shrunk in size, either by being stapled off or with a balloon that you ingest. When your stomach is smaller you will require less food and you should feel less hungry.

Exactly what Freddyboy said. Essentially your stomach isn't as big so you should get full faster. That said, when you get surgeries it is very important to practice portion control so you don't overeat. That said, you're still going to need willpower cause it's not like because you've had a surgery that you're suddenly gonna stop feeling hungry or stop craving foods (even bad for you foods). Essentially just follow whatever advice your doctor gives you.

I don't actually think you feel less hungry. I think you just have to control how much you eat and you may get fuller faster because your stomach is smaller. However, having a small stomach won't make you any less hungry...as I said, it just means you can get fuller faster. You still really have to watch to make sure you don't over-eat and you don't eat the wrong foods that can pack on the weight.

Okay. I can accept that. This makes a lot of sense. So essentially you just will fill up faster but you can still get cravings and hunger just as much. So you still need to watch what you eat and how much you eat. Got it :)

That's exactly it. It's actually a lot of hard work and I don't think many people realize that. It's not a miracle solution. You need to be committed for the rest of your life or you can run into the same problems again only this time it can be even scarier especially if you've had a surgery that has rearranged your insides...
