Default How much does weight loss surgery cost?

I imagine that surgery is expensive. Does insurance cover it or is it considered to be cosmetic?

Sorry brother! I can't advice you well in this case. But you should take consultation from a consultant. Or someone who knows about this cost. Thanks!

Some insurance may cover it. It depends on the surgery and on your plan. Also the cost of surgery will vary depending on what it is. That said, if your insurance doesn't cover it you're definitely look at thousands. But, yeah, either talk to your doctor and find out what your insurance company will cover. Typically if it's not for cosmetic purposes you might have a better chance of getting full coverage or at least partial.

Yeah, ffviifan, the only way to really know is to talk with your insurance company. If it's not cosmetic, hopefully they cover all of it if not some of it.

Okay. I hope they wouldn't think it's cosmetic. Maybe the insurance company would consider covering it if it's recommended by a doctor. All I know is that surgeries can cost a lot.
