Default Take a handful, not the whole bag

One of the biggest mistakes we make when we snack is we take the whole bag of whatever we want to eat, chips, cookies, crackers, etc. with us instead of just taking out a small amount, sticking that in a bowl, sealing the bag and putting it away so it can't tempt us as it does when it's right beside us. So here's my tip. If you enjoy a snack that comes out of a bag (I don't care how "healthy" it is) just take a portion of it and put the bag back. This is the best way to control over-snacking while ensuring you still get to enjoy you favorite treats!

Very good advice tobetinytina. We often take way more than we need when it comes to snacking and this can be problematic when you're trying to lose or control your weight. If you're eating a snack from a box, take the equivalent or less than the serving size. That way you know how many calories/fat you're eating. If you're still craving more after, eat a fruit or some veggies instead which will have way less calories.

Oh yeah, never take the whole bag. You're doomed if you do that, especially if you're just vegging out in front of the TV. If you find that after you've had your snack you're still craving more, I'd recommend, drinking water, sucking on a mint, chewing gum or brushing your teeth to help get rid of the craving.

Exactly! Those are all great ideas to help curb the craving for more snacking that you don't need!
