Maybe I’m just not very smart, but I found that eharmony was pretty difficult to use.

Sometimes they have these promotions where you can use it for free over long weekends, so I signed up for that, thinking that I might be able to get in contact with some good people over a long weekend and then decide whether or not the paid service was worth it.

After taking forever to actually sign up, since you have to fill out a massive questionnaire (and I didn’t find that some of the answers really applied to me, so I’m not sure how that impacted the final results) actually using the service was complex.

I had a hard time figuring out what some of the communications features meant, and I couldn’t figure out how to just plain-old message someone, instead of sending pre-programmed questions back and forth. I just closed my account right after the free weekend.

I understand that it is important for eHarmony to ask a few “getting to know you” questions so that it can make some recommendations of other people who might be well suited to you, but I was shocked to see how long the list of questions really was.

Once you sign up, you think that you’re all set to go, but then you’re stuck with a bajillion questions. I found that I didn’t always agree with the multiple choice answers but I had to settle for one because there was no “none of the above”. Then, after eons, it’s all filled out and it uses some formula to match you with other people. Since when has that ever worked? There’s no formula for putting two people together!

I was troubled with the method used here. I don’t feel I was understood by the survey and I didn’t like that a computer was ruling out or selecting people for me. People will often surprise you with regards to who will click.

I filled out the mile-long form that helps the program to get to know you as you sign up and I did the free weekend that was offered over the holidays, but I just can’t see how anyone can get results out of that program with the way it is. Maybe the benefits and features were limited for people on the free membership. If so, the free trial gave a really poor impression of the service as a whole.

I haven’t had a lot of luck on dating sites, but I think that this was one of the better ones. It stinks that it’s not free, but at least there’s a lot to it and they have a good program for trying to match you up with someone great for you.

I’m glad I didn’t pay into this service for very long because I found that it was confusing and that I never really felt comfortable trying to connect with anybody. I didn’t really feel like I was out there with real people but like I was just on a social network clicking “like” but never actually leaving or receiving posts. Nothing like other dating sites where I’ve had some luck.

I used this site for one of their free weekend promotions and it was one of the biggest laughs I ever had. I'm a shy enough person in "real life", though I'm outspoken online. So after taking the longest test of my life, it decided that I'm "outgoing"! The guys who were messaging me had nothing in common with me.
