Exercise Equipment falls into two categories based on the type of exercise provided: cardio equipment or strenght training equipment. Both types of exercise, along with stretching, are essential to a balanced and effective fitness routine.

Cardiovascular, or cardio, exercise helps to keep your heart healthy and burn fat by raising the heart rate. Cardio exercise equipment includes stationary bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers, and stair climbers. Regularly varying the type of cardio machine you use will help you to exercise more effectively by routinely exercising different muscle groups.

Exercise equipment for strength training is more varied. Free weights, weight machines, and balancing or resistance equipment can all be used for strength training. Weight training helps to build muscular strength and helps to maintain the results of cardio exercise.

Though you might like the exercise equipment that they have at the gym, it actually isn’t absolutely necessary to have all that expensive stuff if you want to get fit, lose weight, and stay in shape.

As long as you have a decent pair of running shoes, you have everything you need for jogging and walking. If you have a bicycle, you have another sport to enjoy. If there is a community pool or beach in your area, then you have swimming taken care of. A DVD player is all you need for pilates and other fitness videos.

One of the most important things that you can do to ensure that you’re going to get a lot out of your exercise equipment is to choose the best one for YOU. Not the best one in general, but the best one for your specific needs.

when you think about some of the home gym equipment price tags, and compare that to the monthly fee that comes with a local gym, the odds are that you could go to the gym for a year or so before you’d pay off that one piece of equipment that you barely use and that takes up a lot of room in your house.

The only thing I lose when I buy exercise equipment is my money. I may use whatever I buy a few times (at the most) but then it always just ends up gathering dust or taking up room in my storage area. I think the best exercises are the ones that you can do without a lot of equipment other than a good shoe.

I hope they put more reviews on this page. I find that i like to see what other people think of all the different types of equipment out there before I buy them since they're usually pretty expensive. I don't always trust the ones on the manufacturer sites since you don't know if the people leaving comments are real or not. This one'll be really handy!

I think I have a fitness equipment addiction! If you're like me, then you like to buy the stuff with dreams of using it and looking like the person in the commercial. So what I do is stick to the inexpensive stuff and use it while I'm still hyped about it and then trade with friends with the same problem - more new stuff, half the price!
