For anyone looking to lose 10 pounds within a week, the Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet might be just the solution. Despite it being named the “one-day” diet, it actually takes eleven days for the entire process, seven for the pre-diet, one actual day of fasting with a special juice blend, and three days to follow up with the diet.

As with any diet that includes fasting, cleansing and elimination of wastes and toxins from the internal organs, an increase in energy and detoxification of the liver and gastrointestinal (GI) tract are all goals to reach with this diet, aside from dropping pounds within a short amount of time.

With the Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet, eliminating fatty foods is the goal when beginning the program. For the initial seven days of the diet program, individuals consume nothing but fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as lean meats. During these seven days, flaxseed or olive oil are consumed in small daily doses to incorporate healthy fats into the diet. On the eighth day of the program, dieters drink the special juice blend, or Miracle Juice. This juice contains ingredients such as orange juice, unsweetened cranberry juice, ground ginger, fresh lemon juice, cinnamon and Stevia, which is known as an artificial sweetener from Paraguay that contains zero calories.

Like many diets that require fasting, losing unwanted pounds in a short amount of time are one of the pros of using the Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet. The pre-fasting meal plan contains healthy foods so that a dieter begins to make wiser eating choices before they fast, as well as after. Some cons of the diet are that, as with any fast, results are not long lasting. Once the dieter begins to eat regularly again, pounds are likely to return. Other cons of the diet are that not all dieters were able to lose the 8 pounds as suggested by following the diet plan. In addition, consuming stevia has been associated with reproductive organ damage.

Since the Miracle Juice can be made at home, the cost of the Fast Track One-Day Diet is affordable and easy to do. Stevia is most often found at a natural food store, and the rest of the ingredients are easily found in a local grocery store. The only cost to the program is to follow the book, “The Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet: Boost Metabolism, Get Rid of Fattening Toxins, Safely Lose Up to 8 Pounds Overnight and Keep Them Off for Good”, by Ann Louise Gittleman. This book ranges in price from $5-$20 in local or online bookstores.
