I know that water pills are designed only to help you lose water weight which is not the same as fat loss. That said, what I'm wondering is is it safe to take these pills for the long term? I'm someone who struggles with excess water weight and I hate feeling bloating all the time. If I shouldn't be taking these types of pill for a long time what are other ways I can get rid of the water I don't want to carry around?

The product labels should have directions. If it doesn't...don't take it. That said, I don't think they're something you should be using daily for the long term. Quite honestly, they're not a "quick fix". I would stay away from these product unless they are actually prescribed for medical reasons by your doctor.
It would be far better to naturally work on reducing bloat, This can be achieved by doing things like:
- drink more water (yes drinking more water helps to flush excess water out of your system because your body won't feel the need to hold onto it)
- Avoid carbonated beverage, gum, drinking from a straw, and other foods and drinks that can cause air to remain in your system
- Exercise after meals to expel gas
- Get proper sleep
Those little tips should help :)

OH man, just don't take water pills kellykatt Unless you've been proscribed them for an actual medical condition, these are not good pills to take, especially not for weight loss. I agree with ChristySmiles it's better for you to alter your diet and lifestyle. You'll probably find it's something that you're doing that you're not aware of that's cause you to hold on to too much water. Also, don't forget that if you still get your period you can hold on to more water during certain points of your cycle too.
