Is there an asparagus soup recipe that is actually good?

I love the idea of asparagus soup. It's so fresh right now that I'd love to make it and freeze it for cooler evenings in the summer or even early fall. It should keep that long in the freezer. But all the ones I've tried smell awful and look terrible. Are there any good ones?

I'd like to ask the same thing about squash. Is there a squash soup that isn't curried? It's not that I don't like curry. It's great! But I don't want it all the time. Any other spices that can go in there instead?
