Is it legal to say that hoodia is scientifically proven even though it’s not?

I don’t think that companies are allowed to actually lie, but a lot of them say that it has been “scientifically tested” or “scientifically proven” but they don’t actually say what they were tested or proven to do. Maybe theyr’e saying that it’s scientifically proven to do nothing!

I don’t think that it’s legal to actually make a direct lie about what is proven and what isn’t but there really isn’t all that much enforcement and there are an awful lot of hoodia pills out there, so it just keeps happening.
