I was perusing the news last week and came across this interesting find. Apparently researchers have found that by supplementing your diet with fiber could actually help increase metabolism. In the study, the researchers gave rats fiber supplements and these rats gained less weight and managed to avoid the pitfalls of a high sugar and high fat diet. It's starting to make me think about adding more fiber to my diet.

That said, that really is interesting. I have read that fiber is good for weight loss because it can help you to feel fuller for longer, which is great, especially if you want to watch your portion sizes and reduce the amount you eat, but this is really promising news. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that the results will be the same for humans as it is with rats!
