Agreed. It's better to obtain calcium from a supplement prescribed by your doctor and/or to get what you need from foods you can add to your diet, such as dark leafy greens, oranges and broccoli. Notice how I didn't mention dairy? That's because it's not the only source.

It?s something like, high intracellular calcium levels can promote lipogenesis and inhibit lipolysis. The thought is that dietary calcium increases lipolysis and preserves thermogenesis, which can accelerate weight loss. That said, I have no idea how much calcium you would need for that effect to happen. Plus, like everything else, just because it aids with thermogenesis does not mean that it will naturally melt fat off your body. You still need to watch what you eat and exercise and all that jazz.

Interesting. I didn't realize that it can actually affect thermogenesis. Does anyone know what that is?

Yeah, Calcium doesn't do anything for weight loss. You should definitely have it if you need it. Maybe if you really need to get calcium having it in a diet pill you look could be helpful to make sure you're getting enough. That said, this is really something you should talk about with your doctor. Ensure the right about of calcium and vitamin D isn't just something you figure out on your own. Plus, you may need more or less compared to someone else, depending on your specific health and what you eat.

I don't think so. Isn't calcium beneficial for bone health? I mean it's good to take and all, but I don't think it has any effect on your weight, period.
