Do Phentermine and Adipex work the same?
I know that Phentermine and Adipex both contain the same active ingredient, but are they identical in the results they produce? I'm only asking because I've recently learned that some generic brands of medications do not work as well as brand name ones. I want to make sure that what I take is going to work the best.Tags: None

Yeah, you really have to be careful with drugs. Essentially, if you're really concerned, you can always ask your doctor. Either way, whatever it is you might be prescribed I would make sure that this is what the pharmacy gives you. For instance, if your doctor wants you to take Adipex, don't let the pharmacy just give you the generic because it's cheaper or whatever. Take what has been prescribed.Originally posted by tracy1976 View PostOkay, yeah, I guess what you're both saying makes a lot of sense. I just know that in some cases they aren't, which I find to be both surprising and kind-of wrong. I'm glad this isn't the case for these two products.

I agree with treehuggertodd. They must work the same way. If they didn't, they've both been around for so long we would have heard something about it by now.

Yes they do. I know that some generic drugs are not the same as the brand name versions, but In the case of Adipex and Phentermine, other than a few different non-active ingredients, the effects this drug produces should be the same as they both use the same amount of the same active ingredient.
