I think I'm going to keep a food journal over the holidays to find out just how much I blow my diet. I'll start now so I can see what I eat before the holiday eating kicks in and then once it's all done, I'll be able to reference what I was eating now so I can easily go back to that instead of trying to guess what my diet was like prior to the indulgence-fest I know I won't be able to avoid. What do you guys think. Good idea? Stupid?

I think that's actually a really clever idea. So much so, that I think I might copy you and do the same thing LOL. That's actually a really smart way to see exactly where you blew your diet and it provides you with some guidance on how to get back on track once the holidays are over.

Oh, hey, I'm so glad you guys like my idea and I don't mind you jumping on board with it haha. I actually feel smart now! More important, I feel a little more confident that once the holidays are over I'll be able to get back to my regular scheduled program. :)

I hope you let us know how it works out for you and if it does actually make it easier to get back on track. I can admit that I'm really bad with tracking, but your idea does sound smart and interesting. Please keep us in the loop :D Also, Happy New Year!Originally posted by tracy1976 View PostOh, hey, I'm so glad you guys like my idea and I don't mind you jumping on board with it haha. Cool! I have a vacation coming up in a couple of months, I might do the same. I think if I do this, I'll feel less guilty about what I eat and letting go when I travel. I find when you have to focus so much on weight loss when you're trying to have a good time, it can be a real drag and you might hold yourself back from experiencing certain things unnecessarily.Originally posted by treehuggertodd View PostI tried this for a vacation and it does work. It's easier to find out what you were eating prior to changing your diet by tracking your regular diet. There's less guess work involved and it's easier to get back to your regular scheduled program.
